Situated at the heart of a popular commuter village and within walking (or cycling) distance of the beautiful Surrey Downs, The Leg of Mutton & Cauliflower is a 500 year old pub, serving real ales and an array of gins. Our kitchen sources it’s ingredients from local suppliers, to create freshly prepared traditional pub food.

There is something for everyone throughout the week. Join us on Tuesday’s for a burger and a beer, Wednesdays are quiz night, with cash prizes to be won, while the weekends see us playing host to parties and events. As well as being home to Old Freeman’s Rugby Club, as well as various other local sporting groups. On every first Thursday of the month you can join us for live music, while throughout the summer, you can find us hog-roasting in the garden!

Our kitchen offers a variety of traditional freshly prepared pub meals, including homemade pies, enormous fish from the local fish monger, our well-loved hot platter sharer, with chicken wings, sweet potato fries, garlic prawns and onion rings, which you might not want to share, plus the less traditional but very popular pork schnitzel.

The Bar

The Leg offers a variety of traditional lagers and ales. Our house ales include, Doombar, Harveys Sussex and local beer Hogsback TEA, as well as guest ales. We also offer a wide selection of wines and spirits, our gin menu includes the locally distilled Silent Pool, as well as Bathtub, Hendricks, Monkey  47, Martin Millers and many more.

The Leg of Mutton and Cauliflower

Honouring its position at the heart of the community, The Leg (as the locals call it), is both children and dog friendly and offers something for all seasons, with a seating area to the front, and large spacious garden and covered area to the back. And for those cold winter nights why not join us by the fire, or in one of our quirky and comfortable rooms.
